Safety concerns for Fla. officials over Quran burn


GAINESVILLE, Fla. - As Florida officials worried about public safety surrounding a small church's plan to burn the Quran, President Barack Obama added his voice to the chorus of opposition to the church's intention to burn copies of Islam's holiest text to mark the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Elsewhere, an Afghan cleric threatened Thursday that U.S. troops in the country's north would face large protests if the Quran burning took place.

Patriots: Brady expected at practice after wreck


BOSTON - The New England Patriots have confirmed on Twitter and Facebook that quarterback Tom Brady was involved in a car accident but is expected to show up at practice.

A law enforcement official who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity says the accident occurred near Brady's home in Boston's Back Bay area around 6:30 a.m. Thursday.

The official was not authorized to release names and says Brady declined medical treatment.

The Peoples Bank is participating in the FDIC’s Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through December 31, 2010, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from coverage available under the FDIC’s general deposit insurance rules.
